Richard joined Tigermar in 2021. Previously a Joint Managing Director of a respected Lloyd’s marine broker, he brings substantial experience and expertise from a career that spans over 45 years. During that time Richard has been responsible for arranging, managing, and servicing insurances for most segments of the global maritime industry, including P&I, land based marine operations such as ports, terminals, stevedores, and all forms of owning, managing, chartering, and leasing operations. He has also been actively involved in reinsurance arrangements for marine insurers.
Richard takes pride in ensuring that he fully understands his client’s business before he brokers their risk. It may sound obvious, but it is an approach that requires a substantial investment in time – a resource that many broking houses no longer afford their brokers.
When he isn’t sharing his knowledge and experience with clients and colleagues, Richard enjoys spending time walking with his dogs and quenching his thirst for information.
