CASE STUDY:
Tigermar placed the Cargo insurance on two Port Cranes that were being shipped by dry tow from Singapore to Malaysia.
The whole adventure was fraught with issues including Piracy and monsoon-related Heavy Weather, and ultimately resulted in a highly complex Total Loss claim. There were many interesting insurance aspects to the case and several stakeholders involved, including Government authorities as the barge carrying the Port Cranes ended up aground at a location of significant national interest.
Tigermar successfully negotiated a claims settlement with Cargo insurers after a London arbitration hearing.
This case demonstrated Tigermar’s ability to manage highly complex claims to the complete satisfaction of its Client.
